Towards a Beautiful world

We’ve all seen memes like the ones given above. They show the picture of a supposedly "unattractive” person by world standards 😡 and ask the netizens to tag their friend who would make a good partner for the person. Many of us are guilty of tagging our friends on those.

Do we realise how horrifying this whole concept is??!😨

Firstly, we publicly body shame and ridicule a complete stranger for no fault of theirs. Secondly we teach our children that it’s not okay to look a certain way. 

We are the generation of hypocrites who talk actively about magazines body shaming women & men. We speak about how airbrushed actors in the movies feed our own insecurities. We debate on why there should be diversity in representation of people in advertisements.

Finally, we in “good natured humour”, disgrace a human whose looks are something they have no control over. We don’t know who they are or what they’re like. We don’t know they’re going through or how they’re facing their demons. We don't know if they have seen the memes that make fun of them. We don't know what impact it has had on their lives.

If you’ve been creating such memes, if you've been tagging your friends on those, Please stop. The person on the meme is probably a better person than you are and deserves a better life partner than you.

Just know that you are showcasing your own insecurities online for everyone to see. People tend to comment on someone else’s look only when they’re not comfortable in their own skin. In addition to that, you show people your ugly inner self. 

Let’s all heal together. Every single one of us. Let’s together make the world a beautiful place where real beauty is treasured. <3

Jesus is usually portrayed as a perfect, benign dude in flowing robes, leading a peaceful bunch of dignified men. People want to see him as a boring bearded leader like one of the politicians of today. Forget his divine nature, even as a human he was nothing short of the coolest rebel you might encounter. 
His speeches were unpredictable, he broke laws, he didn’t give a damn about the respected men of the society. He didn't talk soft. Did it ever occur to you that he would have had to scream the sermon on the mount so that everyone could hear him? Everything he said and did was controversial. He could tie a Pharisee in knots with his smart quirky oneliners. He made friends with the “wrong sort”. He was surrounded by misfits - bunch of law-breaking illiterates, tax collectors and prostitutes. He was definitely not how the Jews were hoping their messiah would be.

Yet, he brought about the greatest revolution in the history of mankind and his legacy continues even after 2000 years.

Here are some of the badass things that he did that drove the "learned men" up the wall: 

When he read from the scroll at the temple :

While at the temple, he reads a passage from the scriptures and then tells them that it was written about him. This scroll drop is exactly how I picture that incident. The look on all the faces would have been priceless. No wonder they tried to kill him.

When he walked on water:

Jesus was left behind at the shore because he was praying and his friends didn’t want to wait for him. When Jesus finished his prayer, there wasn’t any boat left to take him across. Did that bother him? Hell, no! He simply walked across on the water. He was even faster than the boat that when he caught up with them, he was like,'in your face, boys!'. No wonder he let Peter sink a little bit when he wanted to try it too.😂

When he saved the prostitute:

This is one of the coolest incidents in the bible. It shows how one simple nonjudgmental kind word can change a person’s life around.

Having been caught in adultery, the furious men were about to stone her to death. Jesus didn't tell then not to. He simply said that the one without a sin can throw the first stone. Nobody threw a stone at her because duh, nobody’s perfect. Jesus told her that he'll not judge her and she left as a new person.

When he turned water into wine:

When Jesus turned water to wine, he didn’t even explain what he’d done to anyone. 

He simply asked the waiters to serve the water to everyone. The waiters probably felt very stupid taking the water to serve it to the manager. Mind voice:"I’m definitely losing my job because of this high class dude from the Judea clan who thinks it’s okay to play pranks at my cost🤦🏽‍♂️" But, alas! it was the finest wine anyone's ever tasted.

When he raised Lazar from the dead:

When a loved one dies, there’s not much we can do except grieve. But, if you’re friends with Jesus and you die, don’t worry you can rise up again (if you stay on his good side, that is).

Kicking butts at the temple:

Remember the time Jesus upturned tables of moneylenders and chased out everyone who was making the temple into a commercial place?

What do you think the disciples were thinking?

“Why is he braiding ropes?” “Is he taking up a new craft?” “Are we supposed to do it too?” “He is a little angry after looking at the shopping kiosks inside the temple “ “Maybe he’s releasing stress by rope crafting” “Jesus bro! Why are you braiding ropes”

“Damn, WTH!! He wasn’t kidding? Why is he beating the crap out of everyone?”

“This time we are screwed” “Guess we are going to be killed with him”

On the cross:

Finally, if you were dying on a wooden torture device for doing whole bunches of nice things for strangers, and after a rigged trial and political intrigue, would you forgive everyone who did this to you? Jesus did. If this isn’t badass, then what is!

There are hundreds of other badass things that Jesus did. You can read some exaggerated stories in the gospels of the Apocrypha (Those not included in the Bible) 

More than his divine self, I like seeing Jesus as a human. As someone I'd like to be friends with. It's possible that some of you might see this as blasphemy. I'm sorry for hurting your feelings. But guess what, Jesus readily gave up his life for strangers, he'd surely be okay with some crude jokes and memes at his expense. 😁💓
